Delaware @ North Carolina – noon
How They Got Here
Delaware shut out Lehigh in their play-in game on Wednesday as they scored a pair of goals each in the first and third quarters for a 4-0 win. Julia Duffhuis scored the game-winner late in the first quarter, followed by Sian Emslie. Lia Becker and Genevieve Johnson each scored in the third quarter, while Lizzie Gaebel made five saves.
North Carolina won their sixth straight ACC Tournament Championship to earn the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, along with earning the No. 1 seed. Ryleigh Heck scored twice as the Tar Heels edged Virginia 3-2.
Last Time They Met
Greta Nauck scored late in regulation to break a 2-2 tie as Delaware upset North Carolina for their first National Championship back in 2016 at Old Dominion. Nauck and Meghan Winsett gave Delaware a 2-0 lead at halftime, but Lauren Moyer and Megan DuVernois responded for North Carolina to tie the game up at 2-2.
Players to Watch
Julia Duffhuis (UD): The two-time CAA Defensive Player of the Year opened the scoring for Delaware in their 4-0 win over Lehigh. The junior has recorded a goal in the last five of six games and recorded a hat trick against Northeastern in the CAA semifinals.
Meredith Sholder (UNC): The fifth-year midfielder earned Most Valuable Player of the ACC Tournament after an amazing performance in the midfield for UNC. Once on the forward line, Sholder made the transition to the midfield and has played such a critical role for the Tar Heels, especially as they make an NCAA title run.
Saint Joseph’s vs Wake Forest – 2:30 p.m.
How They Got Here
Saint Joseph’s earned their second consecutive A-10 title with a 3-0 win over UMass. Sol Borensztein, Lily Santi and Freke van Tillburg each scored in the win, while Robin Bleekemolen earned the shutout as she did not face a shot. Santi won Most Valuable Player of the Tournament.
Wake Forest saw a 2-0 lead slip away in the ACC semifinals with a 3-2 overtime loss to Virginia. Immie Gillgrass save Wake Forest a 1-0 lead at halftime off a redirection off a penalty corner. Rachel Thetford doubled the lead early in the second quarter, but Virginia scored three unanswered goals to take the victory. Wake Forest earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.

This will be the first meeting between St. Joseph’s and Wake Forest.
Players to Watch
Lehigh James (SJU): The senior midfielder scored twice in Saint Joseph’s 2-1 win over VCU in the A-10 semifinals. James ranks fourth on the team in scoring with six goals and 14 points.
Immie Gillgrass (WF): Gillgrass scored the opening goal in the ACC semifinal game against Virginia, her second goal in the last three games. She’s appeared in all 19 games for Wake Forest off the bench.
Evanston Regional
Miami (OH) @ Northwestern – 1 p.m.
How They Got Here
Miami (OH) routed Rider 7-1 in their play-in game on Wednesday. Claudia Garcia Negrete registered Miami’s second hat trick in as many games to pace the Red Hawks offense. Luli Russo and Berta Mata each tallied a goal and an assist. Isabelle Perese made two saves in the win.
Northwestern fell 2-1 to Michigan in the Big Ten Championship game in Columbus. Lauren Wadas scored the lone goal for the Wildcats, late in the fourth quarter to cut the Wolverines’ lead to 2-1, but unable to find the equalizer. Annabel Skubisz made eight saves in the loss.
Last Time They Met
Miami and Northwestern met on the last day of the regular season in Oxford, where Northwestern prevailed 3-1. Lane Herbert gave Northwestern a 1-0 lead in the second quarter and Wadas doubled the lead in the third quarter, but Russo responded 33 seconds later to cut the lead to 2-1. Benete Baekers scored in the fourth quarter to secure the 3-1 win.
Players to Watch
Paula Pena Martinez (MIA): Pena Martinez scored a hat trick in Miami’s 3-1 win over App State in the MAC Championship game. The junior leads the team with 16 goals along with Negrete Garcia.
Lauren Wadas (NU): The junior midfielder has scored a goal in her last three of four games, including twice in the Big Ten Tournament which earned her All-Tournament honors. Wadas has started in all 21 games for the Wildcats so far this season.
Virginia @ Iowa – 3:30 p.m.
How They Got Here
Virginia fell 3-2 to North Carolina in the ACC Championship, but still earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. North Carolina took a 2-0 lead into the fourth quarter, before Annie McDonough scored to cut the lead to 2-1. North Carolina answered with a goal of their own before Laura Janssen cut the lead to 3-2 but could not find the equalizer. Jet Trimborn made seven saves.
Iowa fell 3-0 to Michigan in the Big Ten quarterfinals. The Iowa offensive could not generate anything offensively as they were outshot 16-3 and no shots were on frame. Mia Magnotta made three saves.
Last Time They Met
Iowa and Virginia have not met since 2014 where Iowa prevailed 4-3. This is the seventh all-time meeting between the squads and Virginia has won both NCAA Tournament meetings.
Players to Watch
Alex Wesneski (IA): The junior forward leads the Hawkeyes with 11 goals, but she has not found the back of cage since Sept. 30 against Maryland. With Iowa struggling to generate offense, Wesneski can be the spark again to ignite this offense.
Annie McDonough (UVA): The fifth-year midfielder has scored goals in back-to-back games after only scoring her first goal of the season on Oct. 23. McDonough was instrumental in the comeback against Wake Forest and the almost comeback against North Carolina.
College Park Regional
Liberty @ Maryland – noon
How They Got Here
Liberty defeated Old Dominion 3-1 to win their second straight Big East Tournament title. The Flames took an early 1-0 lead off a goal from Daniella Rhodes before Old Dominion tied it up with ten minutes remaining. Bethany Dykema scored the game-winner off a net-front scrum with under seven minutes left in regulation. Azul Iritxity Irigoyen made four saves.
Maryland fell 2-1 to Northwestern in the Big Ten semifinals. Hope Rose scored the lone goal for Maryland after Northwestern took a 2-0 lead. Christina Calandra made six saves in the loss. Despite a semifinal exit from the Big Ten Tournament, Maryland earned the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Last Time They Met
Charlotte Vaanhold scored the golden goal with two minutes remaining in the second overtime period to send Liberty to their first ever Final Four, downing Maryland 3-2 last season. After a scoreless first half, Jill Bolton and Vaanhold gave Liberty a 2-0 lead in the third quarter. Bibi Donraadt got Maryland on the board 40 seconds after Liberty’s second goal and Hope Rose tied it up at 2-2 on a penalty stroke with five minutes remaining to force overtime. Iritxity Irigoyen made nine saves while Noelle Frost made seven.
Players to Watch
Reagan Underwood (LU): The junior midfielder is a vital piece to Liberty’s midfield and plays an important role on this team. She found Dykema in front of the cage to set up the game-winning goal in the Big East Championship.
Riley Donnelly (UMD): The fifth year back scored twice in a 5-2 win over Ohio State in the Big Ten quarterfinals. Donnelly has scored at least a goal in her last two of four games, tallying eight goals and four assists for 20 points.
Princeton vs Syracuse – 2:30 p.m.
How They Got Here
Princeton finished 7-0 in Ivy League play to with the regular season title and earn the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, their first appearance since 2019 when they advanced to the NCAA title game. Princeton closed out the season with a 3-1 win over Columbia with goals from Sam Davidson, Beth Yeager, and Grace Schulze.
Syracuse fell 2-1 to North Carolina in the ACC semifinals. North Carolina scored a goal in the third and fourth quarter to take a 2-0 lead. Joy Haarman broke the shutout late in the quarter to tally the lone goal for the Orange. Brooke Boryzmowski made five saves.
Last Time They Met
Princeton handed Syracuse their first loss of the season, a 5-1 setback on Sept. 9. Sammy Popper, Liz Agatucci, Ali McCarthy, Davidson, and Yeager each scored for the Tigers, while Quirine Comans tallied the lone goal for the Orange.
Players to Watch
Sammy Popper (PU): Popper has scored a goal in her last two of three games in wins over Harvard and Brown. The senior forward ranks second on the team in scoring with nine goals and 2 assists for 20 points.
Joy Haarman (SU): The fifth-year midfielder scored in back-to-back games for the first time this season in the ACC quarterfinals and semifinals. Haarman is tied for third on the team with eight goals, along with one game-winner.
Ann Arbor Regional
UAlbany @ Michigan – noon
How They Got Here
Blanca Orsola scored the game-tying goal with under three minutes remaining to force overtime after Stanford took 1-0 lead in the second quarter. After both teams failed to find the game-winner in overtime, UAlbany prevailed in a shootout for their first American East title since 2018.
Kate McLaughlin and Brynn Zorilla each scored as Michigan defeated Northwestern to win their second Big Ten title in three seasons. Stifling a Northwestern offense that averaged 19.6 shots per game, the Michigan defense held them to 10. Anna Spieker earned the shutout.
Last Timey They Met
These two teams last met in Ithaca, N.Y. back in Sept. of 2021. Lora Clarke scored twice as Michigan downed UAlbany 4-1. Sofia Southam and McLaughlin also tallied goals, while Blanca Orsola scored the lone goal for UAlbany.
Players to Watch
Blanca Orsola (UA): Orsola scored the game-tying goal to force overtime in the American East Championship game where UAlbany prevailed. The sophomore midfielder has tallied at least a point in her last six games.
Kathryn Peterson (UM): The Most Valuable Player of the Big Ten Tournament, Peterson got in done on both sides of the ball throughout the tournament. Along with playing solid defense in the midfield, Peterson scored twice on penalty strokes to help Michigan upset Penn State in the Big Ten semifinals.
Penn State vs Louisville – 2:30 p.m.
How They Got Here
After earning the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and first-round bye, Penn State saw an early exit in the semifinals after falling to Michigan 2-1. Sophia Gladieux scored the lone goal for the Nittany Lions and Brie Barraco made seven saves.
Louisville fell 1-0 to Virginia in the ACC quarterfinals, despite Louisville leading 13-4 in shots. Sasha Elliott made one save in the lost.
Last Time They Met
Louisville edged Penn State 2-1 on the road earlier this season. Gladieux gave Penn State a 1-0 lead at halftime, but Katie Schneider and Aimee Plumb scored in the second half for the comeback win.
Players to Watch
Sophia Gladieux: The junior forward has scored in every game so far this season with the exception of three games. Gladieux scored the lone goal in the 2-1 loss to Michigan in the Big Ten semifinals, and she will be a driving force in their offense if they want to make a deep tournament run.
Aimee Plumb: The junior midfielder has been the most consistent offensively for Louisville as she leads the team with eight goals and seven assists for 23 points. She also leads for five game-winners and will be looked to lead her team offensively.
Nov. 2 — The ACC Semifinals gave us two one goal games in a battle for a spot in the ACC Championship. North Carolina looked to keep their record perfect against an upset-minded Syracuse squad. The ACC quarterfinals opened Tuesday in Durham, NC with six teams facing off for a spot in the ACC semifinals. Wake Forest and Virginia needed just one goal to advance, while Syracuse used an offensive output to claim their spot. Read up on all the action below.

Maryland 2, UConn 1 (2OT)
Hope Rose and Bibi Donraadt finished with a goal and assist each as No. 2 Maryland edged No. 13 UConn 2-1 in double overtime. UConn took an early 1-0 lead early in the second quarter. Rose found the equalizer with a rocket of a shot off a penalty corner. Donraadt found the game-winner in the second overtime period after knocking in a Rose shot. Christina Calandra made five saves in the win.
Oct. 9
Duke 8, Richmond 1
Issy Carey tallied a hat trick as No. 25 Duke routed 8-1 over Richmond. Richmond opened the scoring just three minutes into the contest for a 1-0 lead, but Hannah Miller found an equalizer just before the end of the quarter. Macy Szukics and Carey converted on a pair of penalty strokes in the second quarter to give Duke a 3-1 lead into halftime. Carey scored twice in a span of 19 seconds to finish the hat trick and Josie Varney added a goal late in the third quarter for a 6-1 lead. Charlie van Oirschot and Taryn Ringer scored off penalty corners in the fourth quarter to cap off the scoring. The Blue Devils held a 21-9 shot advantage and 6-0 in penalty corners.
ACC
Albany 4, Boston College 3 (2OT)
No. 16 Boston College fell to Albany in the remaining seconds of the second overtime 4-3. Albany scored twice in the first half as Boston College faced an early 2-0 deficit. Boston cut the lead to 2-1 in early in the third quarter when Eva Kluskens scored off a rebound. The Great Danes extended their lead to 3-1 late in the third quarter, but the Eagles responded 25 seconds later with a goal from Martina Giacchino. Peyton Hale tied it up for Boston College midway through the fourth quarter off a penalty stroke to force overtime. Albany found the back of the cage off a rebound in the final seconds to win in double overtime. Emily Gillespie made six saves in the loss.
ACC
Virginia 2, Louisville 0
Dani Mendez-Trendler scored twice as No. 7 Virginia blanked No. 5 Louisville 2-0 at home. Mendez-Trendler scored both goals in the first quarter off breakaways with assists from Laura Janssen and Anneloes Knol. Louisville had opportunity to get on the board in the fourth quarter when they were awarded a penalty stroke but missed wide to keep them off the scoreboard. Virginia outshot Louisville 12-9, but Louisville held a 5-1 advantage in corners. Louisville’s Sasha Elliott made six games, while Jet Trimborn made four saves for Virgina.
The Cardinals suffered their second straight conference shutout, while the Cavaliers picked up their third win in a row.
Louisville travels to VCU on Sunday, while Virginia hosts No. 19 William & Mary.

Charlotte de Vries led the way offensively with a goal and an assist as No. 13 Syracuse shut out No. 16 Boston College 3-0. Deadlocked at 0-0 through three quarter, de Vries broke the tie when she ripped in backhander in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter for a 1-0 lead. De Vries found Joy Haarman five minutes later to extend the Orange’s lead to 2-0. Willemijn Boogert capped off the scoring with under four minutes remaining for a 3-0 win. Syracuse outshout Boston College 17-2 and held a 4-1 advantage in penalty corners.
Syracuse travels to Villanova for a meeting with No. 18 James Madison, while Boston College stays on the road to face the University of Albany on Sunday.
Big Ten
Indiana 2, Rutgers 0
Indiana handed No. 21 Rutgers their second straight conference lost as they scored twice in the fourth quarter for a 2-0 shutout. Rutgers dominated possession for the first quarter but could not capitalize. Play remained back-and-forth as each squad earned penalty corners but the score remained 0-0 at halftime. Indiana broke through in the fourth quarter when Sofia Arrebola Garcia scored on a penalty corner off an assist from Sydney Keld. Yip van Wonderen added another goal a couple minutes later for the 2-0 win. Rutgers led 6-5 in shots, while Indiana held a 4-3 advantage in corners.
Indiana stays home to host Penn State, while Rutgers continues their road trip with a visit to Iowa.
Northwestern 5, Penn State 4 (OT)
Peyton Halsey converted on a penalty stroke in overtime to win a thrilling comeback victory over No. 6 Penn State 5-4 at home. Sophia Gladieux gave the visitors an early 1-0 lead in the first quarter. Bente Baekers tied it up off an assist from Lane Herbert. Mackenzie Allessie scored her first of the day to give Penn State a 2-1 lead at halftime. Allessie found the back of the cage again to extend the lead to 3-1 early in the third quarter. Baekers responded with her second of the afternoon to cut the deficit to 3-2, but Allessie answered with her third goal of the game for a 4-1 lead. Halsey had other ideas as she scored twice in the fourth quarter, including a goal with 56 seconds remaining to force overtime. A back-and-forth affair in the overtime period as goalkeepers Annabel Skubisz and Brie Baracco both made some outstanding saves. Northwestern prevailed in overtime as Baekers was fouled in the attacking circle, drawing a penalty stroke to complete the 5-4 comeback.
Northwestern hosts Maryland as Penn State travels to Indiana.
Ohio State 2, Michigan State 1 (OT)
Emma Goldean scored on a rebound from a Delaney Lawler shot to down Michigan State 2-1 in overtime as No. 24 Ohio State snapped a five-game losing streak. Ellie Rutherford scored off rebound in the second quarter to give Michigan State a 1-0 lead. The Spartans held the 1-0 lead until early in the fourth quarter when Lawler tipped a shot from Sarah Richards to knot it up at 1-1, which was their first goal since Sept. 16 against Maryland. Ohio State held momentum for the rest of the fourth quarter, outshooting Michigan 6-0 to force overtime. Lawler ripped a shot in overtime and Goldean put home the rebound to snap the losing streak and pick up their first conference win of the season.
Ohio State stays home to host Kent State, while Michigan State visits Ohio.
Maryland 2, Iowa 1 (OT)
Dani Van Rootseelar scored twice, including off a penalty corner in overtime as No. 4 Maryland edged No. 3 Iowa on the road in Iowa City. Deadlocked at 0-0 after the first half, Alex Wesneski scored off a steal to give Iowa a 1-0 lead, her team-leading 11th goal of the season. Van Rootseelar responded two minutes later with her first goal of the evening off a penalty corner to tie it up at 1-1. The score remained 1-1 throughout the rest of the fourt quarter to force overtime. Van Rootseelar scored three minutes into the first overtime period for the game-winner.
Maryland travels to Northwestern, while Iowa hosts Rutgers.
Indiana 2, Miami (OH) 1
Yip van Wonderen broke a 1-1 late in the second quarter which stood as the game-winner as Indiana fended off Miami (OH) 2-1. Sydney Keld opened the scoring in the first quarter when she converted on a penalty stroke for the fourth goal of the season. Miami responded at the end of the first quarter to tie it up at 1-1. The RedHawks outshot the Hoosiers 12-4 and held a 7-2 advantage in corners. Arabella Loveridge made three saves in the win.
Iowa 6, Ball State 1
Anthe Nijziel and Esme Gibson scored twice each as No. 5 Iowa routed Ball State 6-1 on the road. Gibson opened the scoring just two minutes into the contest to give Iowa a 1-0 lead. Ball State responded midway through the second quarter to tie it up at 1-1. Gibson broke the tie early in the third quarter with her second of the day. Nijziel added a pair of goals in the third off corners from Lieve Schalk to extend the lead to 4-1. Alex Wesneski and Lokke Stribos added goals in the fourth quarter to cap of the 6-1 win. The Hawkeyes outshot the Cardinals 28-1.
Michigan 4, Rutgers 1
Abby Tamer tipped in a corner sweep two minutes into the contest as No. 8 Michigan dropped No. 19 Rutgers 4-1 in a rematch of the 2021 Big Ten Championship. Michigan did not find the back of the net again until early in the third quarter when Kate McLaughlin scored off a pass from Lora Clarke. The Wolverines added two more goals from Clarke and Claire Taylor. Rutgers spoiled the shutout with under five minutes with a goal from Rachel Houston. Michigan outshot Rutgers 24-8 in the contest, while Caylie McMahon made three saves and Sophia Howard made 11.
Penn State 2, Ohio State 0
On their fourteenth shot of the game, Mackenzie Allessie found the back of the cage off a corner rebound against her former team in the third quarter to help No. 6 Penn State blank No. 23 2-0. The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions played a defensive battle in the first half to take a 0-0 tie into halftime. Jemma Punch capped off the scoring in the fourth quarter with an empty net goal. Penn State outshot Ohio State 16-4 and did not allow a shot in the second half. Brie Barraco made one save for the win along with her third straight shutout, while Abby Danson made six saves.
Wake Forest 3, App State 2 (2 OT)
Ashley Hart notched the game-winner two minutes into the second overtime period as No. 15 Wake Forest avoided an upset from Appalachian State to win 3-2. Meike Lanckohr scored twice in the opening five minutes of the contest to give the Demon Deacons a 2-0 lead. App State scored twice in a span of three minutes with under ten minutes to go in regulation to force overtime. Wake Forest out shot App State 19-6 and held an 8-3 advantage in corners. Ellie Todd made four saves in the win.
Northwestern 5, Richmond 0
Bente Baekers scored twice as No. 1 Northwestern rebounded after suffering their first loss of the season on Friday in a 5-0 home win over Richmond. Lauren Wadas opened the scoring late in the first quarter when she knocked in a rebound off a post shot for a 1-0 lead. Baekers notched the 75th goal of her career with a straight shot off a corner, followed by a Lane Herbert goal for a 3-0 lead at halftime. Chloe Relford added a goal midway through the third quarter and Baekers added her second of the day for a 5-0 win. Annabel Skubisz made four saves in the win.
Maryland 7, Michigan State 2
Hope Rose finished the afternoon with five points as No. 3 Maryland routed Michigan State 7-2 in College Park. Sophie Klautz, Bibi Donraadt and Rose all scored in the first quarter for a 3-0 lead after the first quarter. Emma DeBerdine added a goal in the second quarter off a pass from Rose and Riley Donnelly added her first of the season for a 5-0 Terrapins lead at halftime. Leah Crouse and Rose added two more goals in the fourth quarter for a 7-0 lead. Isa van der Weij scored twice with five minutes remaining to spoil the shutout and cut Maryland’s led to 7-2. The Terrapins outshot the Spartans 28-7 as Monique Jardell made 12 saves in the loss.
Syracuse 6, Dartmouth 0
Lana Hamilton and Eefke Nieuwenhof combined for four goals as No. 11 Syracuse blanked Dartmouth 6-0. Hamilton scored twice in the first half for a 2-0 Orange lead at halftime. Nieuwenhof added a goal in the third to extend the lead to 3-0 in the third quarter. Charlotte de Vries, Quirine Comans and Nieuwenhof tallied goals in the fourth quarter to cap off a 6-0 win. Syracuse outshout Darmouth 26-1 and held an 8-1 advantage in corners.
James Madison 4, Duke 2
Hannah Miller and Issy Carey both scored but No. 20 Duke could not overcome an early deficit as they fell to James Madison 4-2 at home. The visitors got on the board midway through the second quarter after scoring off a penalty corner. The Dukes added two more goals in the third quarter to take a 3-0 lead at halftime. Miller cut the lead to 3-1 when she scored off a penalty corner. James Madison added another goal a couple minutes later to extend the lead to 4-1. Carey added another goal as they cut the lead to 4-2 when she tipped in a shot from Josephine Palde, but they ran out of time. Piper Hampsch made two saves in the loss.
Boston College
Millie Arteta scored the shootout winner as No. 20 Boston College earned a narrow victory over Penn on Friday afternoon. The Boston College defense did not allow a shot through the first half, but Penn got on the board midway through the second period off a penalty corner goal from Courtney Kenah. Olivia Hahn tied the game with ten minutes left in regulation with her first goal of the season. Both teams could not find the game-winner in overtime, leading to a shootout where Boston College prevailed. Arteta scored twice, along with Heck and Carlin, and goalkeeper Carine Van Weichen shutdown Penn’s attempt for the win.
Eva Kluskens scored the lone goal off a pass from Arteta as Boston College fell 3-1 to No. 12 Saint Joseph’s on Sunday. Saint Joseph’s scored twice in the first quarter with goals from Hailey Bitters and Manu Ghigliotti. Kluskens got on the Eagles on the board early in the second quarter to the lead to 2-1. Bitters tallied her second goal of the day early in the fourth quarter to down Boston College 3-1. Van Weichen made seven saves in the loss.
Duke
Hannah Miller found Charlie van Oirschot in front of the cage for the overtime goal as No. 16 Duke edged Appalachian State 2-1. Miller opened the scoring in the final minute of the first quarter off a pass from Josephine Palde. Appalachian State tied the game early in the third quarter when Anna Smarrelli scored on a penalty corner. Duke outshot Appalachian State 18-4 and held a 7-1 advantage in penalty corners. Piper Hampsch made one save in the win.
Logan Clouser scored the lone goal as No. 16 Duke fell to No. 22 William and Mary at the home. Clouser opened the scoring in the first quarter when she scored on a one-on-one with the goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead. The Tribe tied it up at 1-1 with a goal from Lauren Curran. Allison Goodwin scored the go-ahead goal off a penalty corner late in the quarter to take a 2-1 lead. Duke had some penalty corner opportunities but could not convert. Piper Hampsch made two saves in the loss.
Louisville
Embry Jane Imorde scored off a net front scramble late in the third quarter and that is all No. 5 Louisville needed to down James Madison 1-0 on Friday night. Sofia Pendolino assisted on the lone goal for the Cardinals and Sasha Elliot made three saves for the first shutout of the season. Louisville outshot JMU 13-9, but the visitors held a 6-2 advantage in penalty corners.
Julie Kouijzer scored off a penalty corner with under five minutes remaining to lift Louisville past No. 4 Michigan at home. Katie Andeson opened the scoring late in the third quarter, but Louisville responded with Mia Duchars deflected in a goal off a penalty corner to tie it up at 1-1. Michigan made a push in the final minutes, but Louisville fended off three penalty corners for the win. Michigan outshout Louisville 11-6, but the Cardinals held a 7-4 advantage in penalty corners. Sasha Elliott made six saves in the win.
North Carolina
No. 2 North Carolina recorded their second straight shutout with a 7-0 win over California on Friday night. Despite a scoreless first quarter, the Tar Heels responded with a five-goal second quarter with goals from Kennedy Cliggett, Jasmina Smolenaars, Ashley Sessa and two from Erin Matson. They added two more goals in the third quarter from Smolenaars and Alli Meehan, who scored her first goal as a Tar Heel. North Carolina outshot Cal 24-3 and held a 19-2 advantage in corners, both season-highs.
North Carolina used a four goal second quarter against Stanford to cap off their California trip with a 6-0 victory. After a scoreless first quarter, Ryleigh Heck, Katie Dixon, Cliggett and Sessa found the back of the net for a 4-0 lead at half. The Tar Heels added two more goals in the third quarter with Heck’s second goal of the game and a penalty stroke from Lisa Slinkert. North Carolina held a 17-2 shot advantage and 4-0 in penalty corners.
Syracuse
No. 7 Syracuse suffered their first loss of the season in a 5-1 setback against No. 17 Princeton Friday afternoon. Sammy Popper, Liz Agatucci and Ali McCarthy scored in the first half for a 3-0 Princeton lead at halftime. Quirine Comans scored midway through the third quarter to cut the lead to 3-1, but Princeton responded a few minutes later when Sam Davidson converted on a penalty stroke. Beth Yeager capped off the scoring early the fourth quarter. Syracuse outshot Princeton 21-14, including ten shots in the fourth quarter along with eight penalty corners.
Charlotte de Vries scored a natural hat trick as Syracuse blanked No. 25 Monmouth 3-0 on Sunday. All three goals from de Vries came in the first half. Syracuse held Monmouth to one shot and two penalty corners. Lana Hamilton, Sabine vd Eijnden and Laura Graziosi each added an assist.
Virginia
Tyler Kennedy made eight saves in No. 9 Virginia’s 3-2 setback against No. 1 Northwestern. The Wildcats took an early 2-0 lead in the first half, but Laura Janssen found a rebound to cut the lead to 2-1. Ana Media Garcia extended the lead for Northwestern early in third quarter. Cato Geusgens cut the lead to one against after scoring on a penalty corner. The Cavaliers could not find the equalizer, falling 3-2.
Wake Forest
Meike Lanckohr netted a hat-trick as No. 18 Wake Forest beat UC Davis 6-0 Friday morning. Wake Forest scored four times in the first quarter as Lanckohr scored twice, along with Hannah Maxwell and Grace Delmotte. Maxwell tallied her second of the day early in the second quarter to extend the Demon Deacons lead to 5-0. Lanckohr completed the hat trick in the fourth quarter for the 6-0 win. Wake Forest outshot UC Davis 28-3 and held a 14-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Meike Lanckohr and Grace Delmotte combined for four goals as No. 18 Wake Forest routed California 6-1 to wrap up their California trip. The duo combined for three goals in the first half to give Wake Forest a 3-0 lead. Cal cut the lead to 3-1 with a goal from Sara Stone. Lanckohr, Ashley Hart and Sky Caron added goals in the fourth quarter for a 6-1 win. The Demon Deacons outshot 23-5 and held an 8-5 advantage in penalty corners.

#8 Penn State @ #12 St. Joes
Penn State is coming off a 6-2 win over Albany on the road where Sophia Gladieux netted a hat trick. Mackenzie Allessie and Anna Simon combined for four assists.
Saint Joes downed Philly rival Drexel 5-2. Lily Sant paced the offense with two goals in the win.
Last Time They Met: In their first meeting since 2005, Gladieux scored a late goal to edge Saint Joes in State College last season. Penn State outshot Saint Joes 15-11 and Brie Baracco made five saves.

Liberty lost a tight 1-0 battle with no. 21 William and Mary on home turf. Azul Iritixity Irigoyen made one save.
Northwestern routed no. 20 Boston College 6-0 in the final game of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Peyton Halsey and Lane Herbert led the offense with a goal and assist each.
Last Time They Met: Northwestern shutout Liberty 2-0 for the first national title in program history. Alia Marshall and Maddie Zimmer scored for the Wildcats and Annabel Skubisz made two saves.

Maryland routed no. 16 Duke in the final game of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Hope Rose and Leah Crouse combined for two goals and four assists.

Princeton is coming off a narrow 2-1 defeat against no. 5 Louisville. Ali McCarthy scored the lone goal for the Tigers while Robyn Thompson made three saves.

Louisville edged Princeton 2-1 in the ACC/Ivy League Crossover last Sunday. Katie Schneider and Mattie Tabor both scored, and Sasha Elliot made three saves.
